Riverne - Site #A01

We set out the other night to conquer 3 Mammets. Our setup and plan was simple PLD, WAR, MNK, WHM, RDM, BLU our plan was to have 2 melees on the first two mammets while the RDM kitted the 3rd around. This plan in its simplicity was almost our down fall. When push came to shove our party pulled thru, however had we been a little more stocked on HP and MP pots i think the fight would have gone much easier. I tried to parse the fight but the data was invalid due to our fighting being so far spread out, the next thing i tried was Fraps a software app that lets me record the game. This looks great at home before and after encoding but on Google Video its looks small. I will have to play with this later and do some testing. Here is what i go again sorry for the quality.

Real Screw UP!!!

Last night before the run i was looking for a hacked version of Fraps. Well i found one that didn't work but also gave me a nice present. I had a Trojan not sure what all it did or if i lost any critical information. But after mission i proceeded to wipe my system and attempt to get rid of the Trojan. I did eventually just buy fraps and record the mission. I have screen shots, parser and video once i get home tonight i should have something up.

Site A01

After enough people signed on last night we started out for Riverne - Site A01. After we get there and start farming for the Gaint Scales to open the gate, one of our memebers had to leave. So we decided to make this a farming run only and the mission would be on monday night. While there Coldwind happened to mention the sunsetting and commented how nice it looked. I thought so also.

Self Destruct

Blue Mage has a couple of spells that have noted by many previous BLU's before me to be very challenging to get. Self Destruct has been one of them. I have spent about 10 hours in Gusgen Mines prior to me learning the spell, I thought since i had level to 53 a good place to go would be Oldtown. Oldtown was great i was able to walk around without agro for the most part but there was still some places a tad deeper in that would agro me. So after about 2 hours in Oldtown i head back over to good ol' Gusgen Mines. After about 30 mins:

This was a great day to be a BLU.

Phomiuna Aqueducts!!!!

Well last night was CRAZY to say the least. Our 7pm mission started at 10pm we did fight and win against the Minotaur which is a plus. I was to much in the heat of battle to remember to get a screen shot but thankfully Coldwind did.

So after finally getting everyone on the same page we set out to meet up with the Minotaur. It was a fairly short fight, Cold happened to get Doomed but was amazingly lucky with getting rid of it on the first holy water. After the win we make our way to the library and i was under the impression that i had the correct key so i told Abd not to worry about tools. So when we get there i realize its the wrong key....... So Kyss sends me a /tell after a couple of seconds ands asks can we get back to the start and get back here without fighting the Minotaur. I had several Blondie moments last night, i replied to her no we can't. So we go off fighting fomors for the key. We did get some lucky Mnk and nin subligar drops, congrats to those. Then after a small wipe my blondness wore off and i remember that you are able to come and go in there with out fighting Minotaur. So we make our retreat instead of asking everyone to stay there because i was struck with the blondness again we all ran to the zone. I run out get some Theif Tools and then we all run back. Had i been smart about this it would have just been me running thru here to avoid a 9 person train which leads to agro and our party wiped. So i have had enough Blondie moments last night to last the rest of next month. I am truly sorry for stopping us last night from completing the mission. I will do better next time and we will continue the mission tonight or tomorrow.

Omens! Blu AF mission 3

So last night as i was tring my best to learn self destruct when i got a party invite. So i head off to kuftal tunnel and we start rocking on crabs. I had forgotten food and my ACC and damage was horrible. So i looked at friends list to see who might be idle not doing anything, sent a /tell to Rayneblood to see if he would bring out some sushi and he did that made a huge difference. I think my goal is going to be to get 56ish so i can use my BLU AF hands which increase my chance to learn.

Anyway so last night kyss and i head off to fight the immortal flan, sounds spooky right........

Kyss had said before we entered that the fight was a pretty easy and she was right. This flan did have a ton more magic resistance than normal flans. Over all fun fight and getting closer to finishing off my Goal of 60 BLU!

Wish Me Luck!

I normally do not post about my real life on here, but as it is the most prominent thing in my life right now, it is news-worthy.

Tomorrow I go for my surgery - sinus surgery. They are going to fix a deviated septum, widen the passageways to the two sinuses in my upper cheeks, remove some 'honey comb'-like material from the two sinuses above my eyes, while widening the passages to those as well, and remove soft tissue from my turbinates, which tend to swell up at night when lying down because of fluid build-up during the day.

Over the years, I have had many, countless sinus infections, growing more and more frequent as I get older. After moving to DC, I noticed I was getting sick far too often. Finally, after being on antibiotics for a sinus infection the first week in January, only to have a cold strike again two weeks later, I went to a specialist. (My colds typically always lead to a sinus infection if left unchecked.) After a CAT scan, they determined that my sinuses were never completely draining. Because of it, the fluid in the sinuses would become infected. After a round of antibiotics, things would clear up, but the fluid would remain trapped, thus creating a time bomb just waiting to get infected again.

This cycle continued for years - I just lived with it, thinking that it was normal. But tomorrow, that will hopefully change.

The procedure is fairly safe with very few risks of complications. I should be under the knife for only an hour or so; they perform the entire operation via the nasal passage, therefore there will be no visible scars or cuts.

I will be in FFXI hopefully for a while during the recovery, assuming my pain medz do not completely knock me out.

Finishing up Promies!

Sorry no pics from last run but we are nearing the end of promies for now......

I have setup a date of thursday or friday of getting Phomiuna Aqueducts finished. So far that i know of we have 2 other LS memebers who need to clear Promie Holla in order to gain access to Phomiuna Aqueducts mission. I have offered to help on Wednesday to get that final clear for those two.

Thanks to all the help from ppl who have previously cleared these missions and going back several times for clear. Cold, Kat, Krile, Berm, Abd.

Slow Progression!

Sorry its been a little bit since last update. Been very busy, getting Blu lvl'd its now 52 still needing some spells. Last night we got Kat, and Bug their final promie clear at holla. My plan is to get Bass thru Dem tonight and Mea Friday. Due to the previous losses at Holla i was to nervous to take any Screen shots during the fight. But here is our group shot before the fight.

Slow Going!!

So far this past week and remainder of this week i am helping link mates get the clears to the first missions of COP. After two very succesful runs to Dem and Mea, Holla proved to be well just unlucky. We were doing great the boss was down to 24% and me and the other SMN both had 1 astral flow each left. Just as both of us used our ability the boss use a AOE sleeping move that put our avatars to sleep make them unable to attack. I have found a great plan to avoid this happening again and plan to excute that tonight i am hoping for a final clear of Holla. I still have to do Dem and Mea next couple of days and should be finishing up promies for a tad.

I have also been catching up on my BLU spells. I am currently lvl 45 and have solo'd my last 1k of XP while trying to learn spells. I have some more to get still but this is a very fun process and kinda annoying trying to learn the move.

A Moment of Silence

After nearly 3 years of time in FFXI, I finally have a job at 74. THF officially passed my BLM last night (BLM is 73) and leveled to 74.

RIP BLM.

Promyvion - Dem

Um we cleared Dem i can't think of any cute stories right now to tired i might get one going tomorrow at work.

Promyion - Mea

Six brave adventures set out into the unknown. Climbing the tower that is Promyion - Mea there is 4 floors to this terror of a climb with each floor growing in difficultly. Each floors is covered by monsters, that you have to make your way through. The goal of each floor is to reach an "elevator" called Memory Receptacle, however these too can be tricky monsters. At each MR are weaker monsters called strays they will attack like blood thirsty wolves in packs. Our plan was simple send in the heavy armor to take out the MR so we could access the elevator and have the summoners take out the strays. We make our climb to the top floor and enter into the Spire of Mea "waiting room". We group up and get our game plan.


The fight is going fairly well until the Delver decides he wants to go TP crazy. Just when it seemed all hope was lost Shiva cried out we have come to far to die now and with every ounce of rage left in her body calls for her strongest attack Diamond Dust.

The Mighty Shiva unlike Casey did not strike out.
